2021 Atlantic Championship Wrap Up
September 23, 2021
After a busy summer and lots of hard work by coaches, players and volunteers we want to say thank you to everyone who attended the Atlantic Championships held in Saint John, NB in August. This event proved to be a great success bringing teams from across the Atlantic provinces together for the first time in close to two years. We were able to host U15, U17 and U19 categories for both the male and female divisions.
We had 7 teams across 6 divisions compete with some very notable results! All participants put the work in during the summer to prepare for this tournament. Results from our final day are listed below:
The day was highlighted by several excellent matches. The first team to shine was the U17 Women who played a phenomenal game and earned the GOLD medal vs Nova Scotia in a nail bitter with a penalty kick in the final minute.
In similar fashion, our U19 women battled incredible well and ended up losing in the last minutes to a penalty kick.
For the first time EVER we had a second U17 team. This showed the strength we have at this division and these athletes showed tremendous strength throughout the weekend. This team ended winning their last match to earn 5th place.
Our U15 men were dominant all weekend earning our second GOLD medal of the event.
Our U15 women were one bonus point away from the gold but earned every bit of the hardware.
Our U17 & U19 Men both battled extremely hard throughout the weekend. The U19 men finished in fourth place while the U17 men earned a bronze medal.

All in all, an extremely impressive effort from these players - it was fantastic to see them all back on the field representing the province!
