GREAT 4 DAYS IN VANCOUVER FOR INAUGURAL PROGRAMS
The inagural U18 Spruce Boys and Girls 7s teams wrapped a busy, but great 5 days of rugby in Vancouver on Sunday.
The teams had a travel day on Wednesday in order to get from New Brunswick to Vancouver.
On Thursday and Friday both teams competed at the National 7s tournament against provinces from all over the country. Cameron Pope finished as the 5th leading overall scorer for the tournament. Great work!
The boys finished the tournament in 8th place out of 12 teams while the girls finished in 9th of 10 teams.
Huge thanks to coaches Nick Boyle and Chris Barry for the boys and Dan Hutchison and Vanessa Duffley for the girls. As well to team manger, John Crawford for keeping the machine oiled.
On Saturday and Sunday the teams got to take in the HSBC World Rugby Men's 7s at BC Place. The atomosphere was electric with sold out crowds for both days. Everyone agreed, it was a truly a great experience.
The teams will build upon the experience and train and play for the next year in order to return in better form for next year.
